Sarah Lister speaks….

Last night your valiant committee members battled through the wind and rain for our monthly committee meeting and boy do we have some delights in store for you. I don’t want to give away any secrets but we are already discussing plans for the autumn and 2013 and 2014 were even mentioned.
And if you can’t wait that long, then plans have been finalised for our March meeting on 30th when the Reading Room is proud to present Bernard MacLaverty author of the novels “Cal”, “Lamb”, “Grace Notes”, and “The Anatomy School”. Bernard has also been awarded the 1997 Saltire Society Scottish Book of the Year Award and was shortlisted for the Booker Prize for Fiction and the Whitbread Novel award so we are very excited to be welcoming him to Skeabost Hotel to talk and read to us. In fact some committee members are so excited they may explode before the big day .
Unfortunately for you we have to do some of the boring stuff, so there will be a special general meeting before the big event and we urge you to attend as your input is important to us. And don’t forget there will be food and drinks available for those of you that wish to partake.
We look forward to seeing you all there for what we anticipate will be a fabulous evening.
