It’s 1 November and after a spooky night of readings to celebrate Halloween, we are looking forward to a month of frenzied activity as the Baker Prize entries send our email account into meltdown!

You still have plenty of time to enter and here’s a reminder of why you will want to get writing and send your entry to us by midday on 30 November:

Northwords Now have sponsored the English Prose section – 1st prize of £100 and 2nd prize of £50

Bòrd na Gàidhlig have sponsored the Gaelic Prose section – 1st prize of £100 and 2nd prize of £50

Northwords Now have sponsored the English & Gaelic Poetry sections – 1st prize of £50 and 2nd prize of £25

All 1st prize winners will be published in Northwords Now.

All 1st and 2nd prize winners are invited to attend the Baker Prize Awards* evening on 26 February 2013 to read their winning entry and receive their prizes.

All 1st & 2nd prize winners are invited to read their winning entries for a CuillinFM Baker Prize Special Show.

And as if all that isn’t enough, all entries to the Baker Prize are eligible for inclusion in a Reading Room Anthology to be published in 2013.

Plenty of incentives to send your entry on Island Life to us at skyereadingroom@yahoo.co.uk

We do have an entry fee but please remember The Skye Reading Room is a not-for-profit community organisation and all funds go to promoting literary activities in the Skye & Lochalsh area.
