The Reading Room welcomes Paddy Bushe on 28th May

We’re  delighted to announce that Paddy Bushe, Irish poet, will be joining us, along with Lin Anderson, at our monthly Reading Room event on Tuesday 28th May.

Paddy, born in Dublin in 1948, now lives in Kerry. He has published eight collections of poetry, six in English and two in Irish, as well as three books of translations. His most recent collection is My Lord Buddha of Carraig Éanna (Dedalus, 2012). He has also edited Voices at the World’s Edge: Irish Poets on Skellig Michael (Dedalus 2010). Ó Choill go Barr Ghéaráin, a translation into Irish of the collected poems of Somhairle MacGill-Eain (Sorley Maclean), is forthcoming from Coiscéim.  He is a member of Aosdána, the Irish academy of writers, composers and artists.

The evening event starts at 7.00 at the Skeabost Hotel and this month we also have a Crime Writing Workshop on the afternoon of 28 May led by Lin Anderson, well known crime writer – author of the Dr Rhona Macleod series.
