The Reading Room is delighted to present an evening with Michael Longley – a central figure in contemporary Irish poetry.
Michael is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and a recipient of the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry and the Wilfred Owen Award. In addition, he has won the Whitbread Prize, the T S Eliot Prize, the Hawthornden Prize, the Irish Times Irish Literature Prize for Poetry and the Librex Montale Prize. He was made a C.B.E. in the Queen’s Birthday honours 2010.
The evening proper will start at 7.30pm in our usual venue at Skeabost Country House Hotel but you’re very welcome to join us beforehand if you fancy a pre-event blether.
Bar meals are available from 6pm.
Entry to the event is free to Reading Room members, £4 for non-members.
