BAKER PRIZE 2013 COMPETITION PRIZES
English Prose & Poetry sections sponsored by Northwords Now
English Prose – 1st prize: £100 and publication in Northwords Now
– 2nd prize: £50
English Poetry – 1st prize: £50 and publication in Northwords Now
– 2nd prize: £25
Gaelic Prose sponsored by Bòrd na Gàidhlig
Gaelic Prose – 1st prize: £100 and publication on the Northwords Now website
– 2nd prize: £50
Gaelic Poetry – 1st prize: £50 and publication in Northwords Now
– 2nd prize: £25
Unpublished Adult Award: this prize will be awarded to a talented newcomer in the adult sections – the prize is £300 reduction in course fees to a Moniack Mhor course.
If you wish to be considered for this prize, you must confirm on the cover sheet/in writing that you have not been published.
16 – 18 years Schools Section
1st Prize: Free place at Moniack Mhor’s Highland Schools Course and publication on Northwords Now website
Further Prizes for all sections of the competition still to be announced.

The Baker Prize 2013 prize sponsored by CuillinFM
First and second prize winners from all sections will be interviewed for the Reading Room Radio Show and record their winning entries for broadcast on a Reading Room Baker Prize Show on CuillinFM.
In addition, all first and second prize winners are invited to read their winning entries at the February Reading Room event held on Skye (venue to be announced). If winners cannot attend the February event, they are welcome to attend a subsequent Reading Room.

The Reading Room Anthology
Your entry to the Baker Prize will automatically be considered for publication at a future date in an Anthology that the Reading Room is preparing. By entering the competition you are giving your permission for the Reading Room to publish your work in the Anthology – copyright remains the property of the author and if your entry is chosen for the Anthology, you will receive a free copy.
