Zoe Strachan was the guest speaker at the May session of the Reading Room. Zoe is a lecturer on the Creative Writing course at Glasgow University and published her first novel in 2002.
During the evening she entranced us with her open and engaging manner talking about her work, her inspiration and fitting it all in with a ‘proper job’. She gave us a sneaky peak of her latest work, ‘Lips That Touch’, a love story set between 1935 and 1966 in small town Scotland. In part it’s based on family stories which, she confirmed, was a new venture for her.The audience numbers were small but this made for a lovely informal atmosphere and a vibrant question and answer session when Zoe generously and fully answered all our various questions.
If you were there, we hope you enjoyed it too. If you weren’t, you missed a real treat.
